India Pale Ale – The definitive craft beer

Originally, IPA’s were the only beers which could survive the long, hot ocean journey to, well….India. Hops, and alcohol are two things which help keep beer unspoiled, fresh, and delicious. This beer has them in abundance. Lots of crystal malt keeps it sweet and fruity, yet the bitterness and floral aromas of the hops balance it well. Top it off with some smooth alcoholic heat (7.1% ABV!) and this is one ultra flavourful beer.

This kit contains:

· Malt extract, hops, specialty grains, and premium brewing yeast

· Starter brewing kit – everything you need to make 2 six packs. Just add bottles!

Estimated ABV: 7.1%

I was fortunate enough to have Santa leave a Hoppy Heart IPA Kit in my Christmas stocking this year and I have just finished brewing my first batch of home-brew. I’ve always loved a good craft beer but learning how to brew it myself has been a great experience (the smell is amazing) and dead easy – the instructions were easy to follow and there is a handy step-by-step demo on YouTube. I’ll be picking up another fermenter and trying the Aussie Wattle Pale Ale next. The hop varieties smelled amazing and I can’t wait to taste the final product in a few weeks – I’ll leave another comment once I’ve had a chance to taste!

This is an amazing product which a great wide selection of different options for different recipes. The ingredients are all super fresh and high quality and smell wonderful when boiling. Although I wish there was the plastic funnel included as I cant imagine it wouldnt cost much more to add. The paper instruction are thorough but slightly tricky however the online video instruction were much welcomed. An even easier instruction video might include a succinct animation which could go through the steps in less time.

Overall super impressed this company and looking forward to trying the different flavours and whats more to come

Always been a beer lover, but I was always too hesitant about trying to brew my own beer. “What if it goes wrong? what a waste” I would tell myself. I was lucky to receive an IPA kit as a gift and was so glad i did!
My previous hesitations were quickly diminished as it was so simple to follow with very clear instructions, and the end result was better than I was expecting!
One suggestions would be to include a funnel with the pack, i didn’t have one at home, and none of the local stores had any for sale. I improvised with using a ladle but would have been easier with the funnel.
Great product, looking forward to trying the cider refill!

Starting brewing my own beer when I was younger but always used those brew from a can kits and just recently starting brewing again.
I wanted to try brewing with grains and thought this kit looked pretty interesting as I am a big fan of hoppy IPA’s…. this kits did not disappoint it was very very simple to do and after waiting very patiently for it to self ferment I finally got to taste the final product and I am VERY VERY happy.

Think I need to buy the BIG refill next time as 5 Lt is just not enough!!!

My first foray into beer making has not disappointed. Very easy to follow paper instructions and you probably have everything you need in your cupboards to get right on it.
The smells from the kitchen weren’t as bad as I thought (I’d imagined a very stinky afternoon ahead). I really enjoyed the shaking about of the fermenter to mix the last lot of hops and yeast, and am eagerly awaiting my bottling phase, so I can get the next batch on.
I would love to see some Brew Smith Growlers to decant into. How marvellous would that be?!

Simple, easy to follow instructions on all these kits. Cracked my first Hoppy Heart yesterday, albeit a little green – still tasted like the real deal. It’s definitely given me an entry level into the whole process and can’t wait to start experimenting.
