Craft Brew Review – Stillwater Artisinal Brewery – Debutante

A Saison by Any Other Name…

Venue: BrewSmith HQ via Slow Beer
ABV: 6.4%
Stillwater’s Beer Page
Two Best Things About the Beer: A nice spicy, fruity, and slightly rotten smell/taste. Tastes like a big saison.
Two Weaknesses of the Beer: Not very distinctive. Was hoping there would be more flavours from the weird ingredients, but I just can’t tell they’re in there. The sweetness could come from the malts or the heather honeysuckle or hysop, however I can’t really tell.
Goes Great With: Covering up onion breath
Ideal Time and Place: A hot day after riding your bicycle home from the baguette shop.
Like many french things, you’ll want to hold your nose before consuming, but this one is worth it. It’s still a nice beer. I just couldn’t tell it apart from another big saison.
One Thumb Up
