Spent grain dog biscuits – even your dog will appreciate you brewing!

Ever wondered how your dog could benefit from brewing?  Probably not..  However, he/she can!  Yes, it’s true!  With this spent grain dog biscuit recipe!

The used speciality grains from your Chocolate Paradise Porter recipe can be made into a treat for your four legged friend.  Once they’ve been soaked and the chocolately rich goodness removed for the beer, they’re a perfect nutritious tasty base for dog biscuits.  Recipe as per below.  And it’s super easy to make (although your dog doesn’t have to know)!

Spent Grain Dog Biscuits Recipe:

Ingredients:

2 cups spent grain
1.5 cups flour
1/2 cup peanut butter
1 egg

Mix all ingredients thoroughly and then roll out onto a floured surface. Using a cookie cutter of your choice (we’ve used ninja cookie cutters for no reason at all), cut out your cookie shapes.  Place your cookies on baking sheets and bake for about half an hour at 180 degrees celsius. Then, reduce the temperature to 110 degrees celsius and bake for an additional 2 hours.  This dries them right out and means they’ll last a while.  This recipe makes about 21 ninja cookies but you’ll make more or less depending on the size and shape.  Store in an airtight container to keep them dry.

We hope your dog enjoys them.  Woof!
